Adelyne Jaffe, “Big A,” “the Bubs,” (nee Marshak), age 91, lived life to its fullest. She met the love of her life, the late Dr. Eugene Jaffe, at the age of 15 and celebrated 55 years of laughing, socializing, bickering, traveling, and devotion to family and friends. She was the youngest and most doted on (spoiled) daughter of the late Samuel and Frieda Marshak. Her older sisters, the late Maryann Marshak and the late Esther (Miles) Roubitchek, also doted on sweet Adelyne. She was the sister- in-law to the late Jacqueline (Alan) Coleman, and loving aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She took great pride in molding, shaping, and controlling her four daughters, the late Julie Beth Jaffe, Sally (David Robinson) Jaffe, Patti Jaffe, and Francine (Jeffrey) Pine. Her most cherished role was Bubbe to Adam and Amy Kootman, Madeline, Marni, and Allison Pine, and Great Bubbe to Maeve Kootman. You were in for a treat when invited to experience Adelyne’s fine cuisine. She was strong, stubborn, and tough as nails. She knew no strangers. If she liked you, you were good to go, but if she didn’t…uh- oh. Adelyne was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all.
